Today, Let’s Buy British has proudly worked with hundreds of British-made businesses, built a community of over 13,000 passionate supporters, and been fuelled by more than 20,000 cups of tea (and counting).

Our Story: Built on British Spirit

From humble beginnings to a heartfelt mission, the Let’s Buy British journey began with a simple conversation around the dinner table back in 2014.

Like many people across the UK, we found ourselves reflecting on “the good old days” of British manufacturing and wondering whether those skills and industries were still alive today. What started as a passing thought quickly turned into a journey of discovery.

Across the country, from small workshops tucked away in market towns to family-run factories and innovative studios, thousands of talented British makers were still designing, crafting, and manufacturing incredible products. The craftsmanship was there. The passion was there. The problem was visibility.

That discovery lit a spark.

Founded by family members Mark, Sue, and Hannah Cooper, Let’s Buy British was built on a shared purpose: to revive the love for the Made in Britain stamp and champion the talented people behind it.

Each founder brings a unique perspective shaped by real, hands-on experience.

Mark’s career has spanned a wide variety of industries, from hands-on trade work to roles within manufacturing and product development. Along the way, he developed a deep understanding of what it takes to turn an idea into a finished product, as well as a strong respect for the people behind the scenes who keep British manufacturing moving forward every day.

Sue’s journey has always been rooted in creativity. With a degree in ceramics and a lifelong love of craft, she built her early career around making and selling her own handmade pieces. From pottery studios to craft fairs and creative ventures, she developed a deep appreciation for the artistry, patience, and attention to detail that true craftsmanship requires. That creative spirit continues to shape the heart of Let’s Buy British today.

Hannah represents the next chapter of the story. With a background in film, media, and photography, she studied Drama and Film at university before building a career in social media and digital storytelling. Working with brands across a range of industries, she discovered a passion for connecting businesses with audiences through meaningful stories. At Let’s Buy British, she brings those stories to life by showcasing the people, ideas, and inspiration behind British-made brands.

Together, their different paths are united by one belief: the stories of British makers deserve to be seen, valued, and celebrated.

What began as a passion project has grown into a platform dedicated to championing Made in England, Made in Wales, Made in Scotland, and Made in Northern Ireland, and celebrating the craftsmanship found across all four nations.
